If you have successfully qualified at one of the Gran Fondo World Series events being held across the world or if you received a wildcard, you will soon receive a personal email from Series coordinator Erwin Vervecken. Enclosed will be a private link to register for the Gran Fondo World Championships. This link will be for qualified riders only and all registrations will be cross-checked with the competitor lists from each event.

Istočno Sarajevo (East Sarajevo) in Bosnia and Herzegovina wil be host city of the 2021 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships on 06.10.-10.10.2021. The programm of these World Championships will be slightly different from previous years.
Istočno Sarajevo will also host a qualifier event of the same courses on 13.08. - 15.08.2021.

Istočno Sarajevo or East-Sarajevo is the city in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republic Srpska, one of the two regions in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The city has 61.516 inhabitants.
The region has a mild continental climate with an average of 68 summer days (over 30 degrees Celsius) per year. The average day-temperature in August is 24.5 degrees Celsius while the weather during the second weekend of October during the World Championships has an average day-temperature of 18 degrees and 6-8 degrees Celsius on the high altitude at the finish line.
Sarajevo has an international airport at only a few kilometers from the start and finish of the road races.
The finish of the road races is located in Jahorina at an altitude of 1500m, 28km away from the city.
